8 Simple Home Remedies For Burns

Burns can be divided into three categories. Depending upon the surface of the burned skin and the severity of injuries they can be - first, second and third degree. Third degree burns often result in death, especially when they cover large areas of the body. Home remedies for treating burns

1. Cold milk

Dip two pieces of clean cloth in a cold milk. Take one piece and place it on the injured area. Leave on for 15 minutes and then remove that piece and put it into the milk. Pull another cloth that was already in the milk and place it on the wound. Remove it after 15 minutes. This procedure should be repeated for an hour. Milk is considered as a very effective domestic remedy against burns.

2. Balm for burns

  • 4 tablespoons of natural honey
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 3 egg whites

Whip the egg whites alone until you get a sturdy snow. Then add olive oil and honey in the beaten egg whites. Mix well with a wooden spoon until you get a soft mass, which can be placed in a thin layers on the burns. Balm can be kept in a dry and cool place and should be used repeatedly.

3. Egg white

This is probably one of the most powerful domestic remedies against burns because it relieves pain, wounds heal faster and prevents the formation of blisters. Brush wound with egg white and the pain will reduce soon. Continually brush the wounded place with fresh egg white to keep skin moisturized.

4. Marigold

Marigold flowers possess anti-inflammatory properties and can be applied locally. Soak marigold flowers in a hot water and let it stand for 15 minutes. Dip cloth in the cooled tea of marigold and place it on the affected area. You may also drink tea. Since marigold may cause allergic reaction to some people, you should first test its effects on your body.

5. Aloe Vera

When you clean the wound with cool water, brush it with fresh Aloe Vera. It is especially recommended for first degree burns. Aloe Vera is not recommended to people who have heart problems.

6. Tomatoes

Tomatoes will help you avoid the appearance of blisters. Take a big slice of tomato and place it on the wound. Leave to act for five minutes, and then remove the tomatoes, leaving wound to dry a little from the tomato juice. Then rinse the skin with cold water. The procedure should be repeated at least twice a day.

7. Yogurt

This is probably one of the most popular folk remedies against burns. It is often used by those who get burn in the sun, but you can also put it on the skin areas that have been injured during cooking. Put yogurt on the affected area and the pain will disappear soon. Let it dry on the skin for at least 15 minutes, then rinse.

8. Toothpaste

Apply the larger amount of toothpaste to prevent the formation of a burn blisters. You will achieve a better result if you apply the paste and place gauze over it and leave it for 24 hours.
