How To Get Rid Of A Headache

Headache is a pain in the head that every one of us have sometimes. It is very uncomfortable when you feel the pain in the head and it is probably considered as the worst pain. Many doctors say that headache is not a disease, but it is more considered as a symptom. For example every flu begins with fever and headache as well as infectious diseases. Headaches can be also caused by sclerosis, heart diseases, high blood pressure or insomnia. You probably felt that when you feel hungry your head starts to hurt, but this may also happen if you eat too much. Therefore, the best way to treat headache is to find a cause. You need to find out what was the reason that your head started to hurt. The best option is to turn to an experienced doctor for a thorough examination.
The nature is also giving us plenty of solutions to prepare natural remedies that may help you cure your headache. For example if you have a headache and the cause is cold you can cook beans with garlic. When cooked, mix it well with olive oil to get smooth mixture. Massage your temples with this mixture.
There are even more headache remedies that you can make in your home:
  1. Grind well 2-3 onions and mix it well with olive oil and a pinch of salt. Massage your head with that mixture, place the mixture in a cloth and tie it to your head. Lay down and place a dry scarf over the cloth.
  2. One of the remedies you may try at any time is actually a coffee made with lemon. Make your ordinary Turkish coffee and add few drops of lemon juice.
  3. Make a tea from: 1 tablespoon centaury, 1 tablespoon yellow gentian, 2 tablespoons valerian root. Mix well all the ingredients and pour over 1 tablespoon of this mixture 2 dl of boiling water. Allow it to stand for 10-15 minutes. Drain and drink it cold several times a day.
  4. Place few leaves of cabbage in the oven. When they get warmed and soft put them out and cover your head with them. Repeat this three times a day until pain gets away.
  5. If you are suffering from tension headache, try mixing 10 gr of yeast and 1 tablespoon of honey. Put it in a cloth and place it on your head. 
  6. There is one more version of tea for headache: 1 tablespoon dandelion root, 1 tablespoon angelica root, 1 tablespoon lemon balm, 1/2 tablespoon thyme, 1 tablespoon elderberry, 2 tablespoons peppermint. Mix well all the ingredients and pour over 1 tablespoon of this mixture, 2 dl of boiling water. Allow it to stand for 10-15 minutes. Drain and drink it cold several times a day.
  7. Mix lemon juice with equal part of water and sweeten it with sugar. Drink this 'lemonade' several times a day.
  8. If the child has a headache, grate raw potato and place it in a cloth and tie it to the forehead. Child's legs must be warm.
